Guest jwall
That uses scans for the body detail from what ive just read, rather than just added texture detail. There are various techniques how to make realistic textures. Result is what matters.
Guest StandSureStudio
I have also been working on better texturing with so the skin looks smoother....LoTRO does a nice job with this even though they are 3-5k ish poly characters. I have a lot more trouble with models since I am a coder but the textures with Photoshop CS are working very nicely. I think with better texturing on the OBM/OBF we could have something seriously great with the UMA or even without. These UMA 'scans' have nice detail but just seem a wee bit pinched on the torso. The female tummy has a strange shape and does not really match very well with the lower legs. The male is much better and looks great throughout.
